At Parker Valley Farm we teach Saddleseat English and Western Riding lessons to Children ages 4 and up. Striving for a fun-filled and family friendly environment, SAFETY is our #1 Goal when it comes to riding. Focusing on teaching a balanced seat which is the basis of all riding styles.
We offer several different lesson options and packages for Children through the Parker Valley Farm School of horsemanship Program
Tiny Tot Lessons: $40.00 or Prepaid discount 4 lessons for $120.00*
Tiny Tot lessons are for riders 4 & 5 years of age. This is a great fun and safe introductory lesson for the younger riders. 20 minutes in length teaching the child how to properly groom the horse, horse safety, horse parts as well as learning to ride and control the horse at the walk and trot.
Horsemanship Lessons: $50.00 or prepaid discount 4 lessons for $160.00*
Horsemanship lessons are 30 minute riding lessons for riders ages 5 and up Beginner to Advanced levels. We feel that part of the partnership between horse and rider is also learning to care for these grand animals. Along with learning to ride our riders will also learn how to groom them, tack them, properly cool them down as well as how to safely handle them in all situations. Riders are not required to get their horses ready and put away however if they choose to do so we ask they arrive 15-20 minutes prior to their scheduled lesson to prepare the horse so they are ready on time.
Academy Show Riders: Prepaid 8 lessons for $200.00
Some riders may choose to be a part of Parker Valley Farms Academy Program. This program is for those riders choosing to compete at the Academy level in Horse Shows on one of our lesson horses. Riders in the academy program are required to lesson twice a week in order to be eligible to show.
* Please note that all prepaid discount series must be completed within 60 days from date of purchase.
Cancellation Policy
There is a 24 hour cancellation policy. Please note that if you cancel your lesson less than 24 hours in advance it will result in a forfeiture of that lesson. Emergencies are exempt.
If you are unable to make your regular lesson time we do allow scheduling for makeup lessons.
Proper Attire:
Long pants are required (Preferably jodhpurs) no Capri’s or shorts are allowed, thin soled boots with a heel (preferably not a cowboy boot as they slip and make it hard to keep your foot in the proper position). Helmets are not required but are highly recommended, as are gloves as the rider progresses in their riding.
Proper attire not only improves your riding, but it also shows respect for the sport and pride in your appearance.
All long hair must be pulled back away from face, as this can cause for a distraction when riding. Preferably in a ponytail or braid.
Here are a couple of our favorite online riding attire websites if you need some help in purchasing the items the student will need., if you have any questions please feel free to talk to the instructors. Thank you for choosing Parker Valley Farm.
